Free Stuff

by Cory | June 27, 2009 | In free stuff

In the process of some late-spring / early-summer cleaning (and maybe a bit of conspicuous consumption) I’ve managed to amass a small heap of things that do no more than clutter up the house. Either I have duplicates of these items or they’ve just been sitting in a drawer for the last several years.

Keep reading to see what I need to get rid off and let me know if there’s anything you’re interested in.

Sports Night: The Complete Series

Sports Night: The Complete Series

Of course I had to pick up a copy of the new 10th anniversary release of Sports Night.  So now I’ve got an extra copy of the original extra-less release.

The Wire: The Complete Fifth Season

I’m not even sure how I ended up with an extra copy of season five, but there it is nonetheless.

Deadwood: The Complete First Season

Deadwood: The Complete First Season

Amazon had a week of HBO daily specials and sold Deadwood:  The Complete Series ridiculously cheaply.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (Two-Disc Collector's Edition)

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (Two-Disc Collector's Edition)

I should learn to wait before buying DVDs when it’s entirely obvious the studio is going to release a special edition a few months later.

Playstation 2

Playstation 2

I never really got much use out of the PS2.  I’m sure part of it was never investing in the right games, but I’m much happier with the Wii and this has been gathering dust for a while.   It includes two controllers, an 8MB memory card, and remote control.

Playstation 2 Games

Playstation 2 Games

The crappy collection of games that go with the PS2:  Atari Anthology, Midway Arcade Treasures 1, Crash Nitro Kart,  GTA Vice City, and Spy Hunter.

iPhone

8GB iPhone

And finally…

Despite my rather virulent and vocal distaste for the new glossy black iPhones, I have relented and updated to a 3GS (and it is glorious despite the gloss).  So my original iPhone, headphones, power adapter, and two docks need a new home.  The headphone jack is a bit tempermental at times especially with any headphones besides the standard iPhone headphones.   Otherwise it’s fully functional.
